Day 16 A Mighty Warrior

Do you want to learn how to mentor someone? Look no further than Joshua. Moses spent most of the wandering with Joshua by his side. Joshua learned how to trust and rely solely on the LORD because he spent all his time watching Moses trust God. Joshua was appointed to lead the people into the Promised Land.

God had some words of wisdom for Joshua before he began the long trek into the land.

No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life. Just as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you or forsake you. 6 Be strong and courageous, for you shall cause this people to inherit the land that I swore to their fathers to give them. 7 Only be strong and very courageous, being careful to do according to all the law that Moses my servant commanded you. Do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may have good success wherever you go. 8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. 9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

How did Joshua accomplish his mission? The answer is found above. God told Joshua to keep His word on his tongue and his mind 24/7. That’s it! You see when we meditate day and night on God and His word we have the secret to success. He alone will make us be the kind of people He wants when we are willing to follow Him, day and night. Friday’s are the same as Sunday’s because we serve not just when people are looking but when they are not. That is success!

Lord, help me to be like Joshua, single focused on you!

In Christ Alone,

Jill
