The Beginning Day 1

Good morning ladies. Today is the first day of our series, “The Bible in 90 Days”. I would like to welcome each of you to this great adventure. The Bible is God’s Word, his love letter to us. This is where we get to know not only the Creator of the Universe but our Father who loves us deeply.

“In the beginning God”, the four most important words in the Bible according to my precious husband. Without God there is no universe. There would be no such thing as right or wrong which we desperately need. Without God there is no reason to try and find out . If there is no God there is no order and if there is no order the earth is just a sad empty place. There are all kinds of beginnings.

My favorite, a fresh smelling baby right after his first bath! Now that is pretty awesome. Newborns are so precious, they are brand new with no mistakes. Their world is stretched out in front of them full of possibilities. So, in the beginning God. There was nothing before him. He is the Alpha and the Omega.

Today we start the beginning of our tour of God’s word. We learn the details of God creating the world. He set into motion the earth and all the natural laws to go with it. I really want to focus on what we learn about God’s character. In our culture today I am afraid we have lost the holiness of our God. He is not a god, he IS GOD.

Remember Moses’ response when he came into the presence of the Almighty? He fell to the ground face first. He understood the holiness of the one true God. We will journey through the Garden of Eden, the Tower of Babel, Egypt and points beyond. For day 1 though we start at the beginning. God was, and is and will be God of the universe forever. He created the earth and everything in it. He created mankind in His own image. The plan starts in Genesis chapter one. Come join me.
