Hiding God's Word in Our Hearts

Good morning precious sister. We are starting a new series on Friday's called "Hiding God's Word in our Hearts. I am taking this from the Navigators Scripture Memory Course. This is an entire year of memory verses.

Here is the system. There are 5 areas we will be memorizing and inside each of these 5 areas we will be memorizing scriptures.

Series A- Live the New Life
Series B- Proclaim Christ
Series C- Rely on God's Resources
Series D- Be Christ's Disciple
Series E- Grow in Christ-likeness

Series A has 12 verses we will be memorizing under the topic of Live the New Life. We will do two a week. You will need to write out the two memory verses on a card of the size you chose.

The Sub-category for this week is Christ the Center. They want us to say the topic Christ the Center first, then say the reference of where it is found in the Bible, then the actual verse itself and then the reference a second time.

Week 1
Christ the Center 2 Corinthians 5:17 "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation . The old has passed away; behold the new has come. 2 Corinthians 5:17

We do this verse for two days meditating on the verse and its meaning and saying it over and over again till we have it planted.

Days 3 and 4 we have the next verse under the heading of Christ the Center so we would say this.

Christ the Center Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. Galatians 2:20

Days 5, 6 and 7 should be spent memorizing the two verses repeatedly making sure you understand the verse but what it means. Writing it out also helps. You are supposed to carry the 2 cards with you all week so you can whip them out standing in a line at the store and practice.

Does that make sense? Two verses this week. We will go Friday to Friday. I am memorizing in the English Standard Version so please feel free to substitute the version you are most comfortable with. Please hold me accountable and I will do the same for you. You eat an elephant one bite at a time so don't get discouraged.
With God's help we can do it!

In Christ Alone,
Jill

Be the kind of woman that when your feet hit the ground each morning, Satan says, "Oh crud, look whose up."
